Oh Those '70's Babies...Vintage Fabric Panel Giveaway.

You can win one of these vintage/retro '70's "cheater' quilt panels.
So...''70's retro...
This fabric has got to bring back some memories...that is unless you are under thirty? Perhaps you actually had a blankie similar to this.
This cheater quilt fabric just screams 1970.
I remember some of my cousins coming home from the hospital wrapped in blankets that looked just like this. The colors, the print...so '70's baby nursery. My first child was born 1981...just missed the seventies.
I got the whole bolt of this quilt panel fabric at a sale! Couldn't pass it up.
Of course being "pure" 1970's era , it is 50% cotton 50% polyester.
Hey that polyester washes up great! It's in perfect condition too.
Do you remember this fabric?

Just leave me a comment to have a chance to win this quilt panel. No need to go to my etsy shop or anywhere else...just glad you stopped by to say hello. Maybe you have a memory of a nursery print of the seventies you would like to share?

I'll announce the winner on Saturday, March 7th.
For more chances to win just comment on any of my blog posts during the coming week.
I will add another chance for each time you stop by.
Thanks for visiting!
Good Luck!

Spring is coming...really!

Before you know it...it will be spring. Flowers bursting through the once frozen ground, leaves unfolding on the empty branches. Although it is difficult to imagine it now....Spring is Coming! Really, it is. February is nearing its' end and March is around the corner. Oh my...Spring is such a wonderful time of the year. It is full of hope and new promises. It is a time to "re-feather" your nest and prepare to bring the outdoors back in. It reminds us all to look forward and not behind us. Spring offers a new day to try new things and allow sunshine and flowers into our lives and our hearts. Spring is coming...really!

These are my "Personalized" birdhouses I am offering at my Etsy Shop. They come in three designs and can be personalized with whatever you would like. Whether you hang them up outside or in, they bring a touch of Spring to your home. Birdhouses make wonderful gifts for any occasion. Apple, Picket Fence and Sunflower designs! You can click here to visit my etsy shop and order one for yourself or for a friend!

A Little Dab'll Do Ya...walnut muffins.

These little "Walnut Dabs" are just perfect for a sweet treat without too much of the "sweet"! They are quick to make and even quicker to eat. You can use any other kind of nut that you like. Perhaps whatever you have on hand. I have made them with walnuts, pecans and even macadamians! Try them ....I guarantee you will like them! Seriously, I know they don't look like much...but they are sooo tasty!

"Walnut Dabs"

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
2 eggs
2/3 cup butter or margarine softened

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray small muffin pan with spray butter (I use canola) or line with paper muffin liners. Beat eggs and butter until smooth. Add the sugar. Cream. Add the flour and stir until just combined. Spoon into muffin pan 2/3 full. Bake about 14-16 mins. Dump the muffins out of the pan while they are still hot. (they will come out easier)
ENJOY!

My "One World-One Heart" Quilt

Can you believe this quilt? It is totally representative of the "One World-One Heart" Giveaway that culminates tonight. If you are unaware of this special blog event...it is the creation of Lisa Swifka from A Whimsical Bohemian. Her dream was to host an event that would foster the making of friendships from around the world. There were at least 911 participants, each hosting a unique giveaway. Even if you were only able to visit a dozen or so bloggers - that's at least twelve new friends! What a fun and inspiring event! Thank you, Lisa! And don't let the fun end with this event...keep visiting new blogs and meeting new people! You never know who you might meet!
This quilt could be a lovely reminder to you of this fun annual Blog Event!

I found this wonderful quilt, somehow given up by its maker, and I am offering it for sale.
If I could have created a quilt in honor of this event...I don't think I could have done a better job! It is just awesome how representative this quilt is! The use of the blue patterned fabrics truly represents the blue world globe on the One World-One Heart Logo and then of course there is the One Red Heart near the center! This is a gorgeous quilt, made with quality cotton fabrics and beautifully machine quilted in a heart, swirl and star pattern. It is a handmade one of a kind creation! Measuring approx 46" X 60", this is a darling lap quilt and would look so nice at the end of your bed or draped over a couch or chair!
I am offering this quilt here on my blog for only $65.00 to the first buyer!
Please contact me if you would like to purchase it. Payment can be made via Paypal.

If it is not sold by Saturday I will list it in my Etsy Shop.

Congratulations to all the lucky winners of those fab giveaways!!!!
They will all be announced Thursday!

A Warm & Comforting Homecoming Gift!

After a very busy 10 days in California, I returned to find this lovely gift waiting for me. How nice to open up this box, courtesy of Lisa at Stop 'N Smell the Chocolates, filled with these fun cookbooks, a bag of oyster crackers and two ceramic soup bowls. Thanks so much, Lisa for sponsoring such a wonderful Giveaway on your blog. Not only did I win this fantastic gift, but two other lucky ladies won prizes too. It was perfect timing for me. I left California with it's 78 degree weather and came home to Portland at a nice chilly 38! I think I will make a yummy pot of soup for tomorrow's dinner and use my new dishes. Thanks so much, Lisa!
