Ooh, the cake looks yummy! My favorite thing to make with apples is a Tarte Tatin. With some vanilla ice cream. I could probably eat half of it in one sitting. I LOVE all the apple-related items you have throughout your home!

I too very much like the apple theme in your decor - apples seem a very reassuring and comforting thing really. I've been making this French apple cake recipe lately. It include almond powder for extra moistness and taste. And I have to agree with Mariana, Tarte Tatin is fabulous.
