Isn't it fun to find a craft at a yard sale that was once started by someone else...
...but now gets to be finished by you?
And the more vintage...the better!

When I worked at the Pine Needle, a quilt shop, we called them "UFO's"...
...unfinished objects...
{the remnants of those quilts we start to make but never seem to finish.}
I was happy to find this little UFO from 1977!
Remember these "Yo Yo Animals"?
It's got all the pattern pieces and some of the vintage fabric circles too.
Yo Yo animals are still being made today...just a little more up-to-date!
And yo yos are used in so many different ways too...

~a beautiful garland~
How sweet Carrie! I love yoyo's! What a lucky find!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to FINISH something :)
Oh I must have that yoyo monkey! The grandbabe's nursery is done in monkies and that would be so cute in with the rest of his monkey busyness.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I was born in 61 and I remember my yo-yo doll. It had a wizard's hat. I loved feeling the yo-yos! Those fabrics you got are great! If I didn't *absolutely* hate to sew, I'd make yo-yos because I think they're so cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks for cheering me on concerning our move! ♥
They are great and really effective! So which are you going to make?
ReplyDeleteThose yoyos are so much fun indeed. Thank you so so much for reminding me... I have a craft kit in my 'craft cupboard' Will dive right into it right NOW!

ReplyDeleteyoyos are fun. Are you going to finish that project and what will you make out of them?
ReplyDeleteI love finding vintage crafts at garage sales! And I love that yo yo purse! I think I need to make one.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that I remember that pattern dates me, doesn't it? lol! But, I never have tried to hide my age so that's ok.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I'm guilty of selling my own UFO's at yard sales.
I can't wait to see what yoyos you make!
ReplyDeleteVictoria x
What a coincidence! I just made my first Yo-yos from my brother's shirt for hair clips for his granddaughters! I love making them and am thinking about using them as flower pins for purses..the new animals are soo fun and the old pattern is a real find :-)

No, I have never made any yo yo's. I'm afraid I'm the type who creates UFO's. I have a few of them in my closet (all cross stitch).

I forgot all about yo-yo animals. What a cute reminder. I use them for flowers and I am making a yo-yo quilt for my cousin, but I may have to consider a cute little bunny...Great find and thanks for the reminder.
