My twin daughters were recently told by their doctor
that they should go on a
"Gluten-Free" diet due to their thyroid numbers.
It seems this is getting more prevalent each day!
I love to bake for them...
I love to bake for them...
So I thought I would give this chocolate chip cookie mix a try...
And I gotta tell you...they were delicious!
The mix was loaded with chocolate chips.
You only have to add one egg and 2 tablespoons butter.
It made 18 large, crunchy cookies! And only 80 calories and 1 gram of fat per cookie.
Zero Trans Fat too!
I popped them in this "Chinese Take-Out Box" and...
off we went apartment hunting...snack in tow!
Love your snack in tow! Pure deliciousness!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Carrie. xx
I am going to have to try these out! They look delicious and HALF the calories - at least!
ReplyDeleteLOL - I guess that us girls are on the same wave length today! Gotta fill up the cookie jar - or, in your case, the Chinese take out box. Have fun tomorrow!!

Haven't had this brand but have had [I think it's Betty Crocker...] and they were goooood. Isn't that bad to not remember the name of the maker?!? But it's a regularly known brand.
ReplyDeleteI used the low fat way of making them. Which substituted oil for butter. And since I can't eat chocolate either, shook out the ch. chips with a colander.
But they were gooooooood!!!! Even this way!!!!!
I just happened to see this/your post title, in my Google Reader page, and popped over. I'll be most happy if you share more gluten-free ideas. Since you have daughters in need of gluten free stuff.
And twin daughters, at that! I am fascinated with the topic of twins. I'm not, nor do they run in my family, so I don't have anyone to really ask. It's such a fascinating subject.
Have no idea what their ages are. I'm in my 70's and have needed this gluten free change, for only a matter of months. I'm sorry they have to do it, when they must be young. -le sigh-
Gentle hugs...
These look delicious, Carrie! I love when they take all the bad stuff out of sweets and they still taste good! Thanks for the tip! ;-)

I will have to tell them about that mix
Are the girls getting an apartment together?
you are such a great moma to find them a alternative treat! They look delicious! wonder how many Weight watcher points 20 of them equals..lol
ReplyDeleteThe gluten issue is seemingly becoming more common. Glad there delicious alternatives available.
ReplyDeleteWe are trying to reduce gluten just because we know it is not good for us to eat. It is a challenge!
ReplyDeleteWhat a loving gesture from a caring and concerned mom. Not to mention how cute the container was. My neice started a bakery in their home making all glutten free foods. They did this since they both discovered that they had too. The business has grown so much that they now purchased a warehouse. She makes the best glutten free soft pretzels! Great idea that you shared.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to make some cookies to enjoy on your apartment hunt
