Faith & a Frog!

How have YOU heard God Today?

Many of you have read about the journey we are going through right now...
...with our forced moved.
It has been a privilege to hear from so many bloggers
who have shared their challenges during this time of financial turbulence
and the surprising ways they have come through the other side!

I am sharing this story today about Janette's personal journey...
and the amazing way she heard from God today!

The plot involves a family...faith...and a frog?

Tell us...how did God speak to you today?

Muffins for Megan!

In the midst of my packing and moving...I was able to take a little break to make some apple spice walnut muffins for my niece, who just drove up from Los Angeles.

They got in very late in the evening...
and I knew they would be exhausted...
so I delivered these in the morning while they were still warm!

Welcome to Oregon, Megan!

Now...back to work!
Have a terrific Tuesday!

Extravagant Gratefulness...

I can not thank you all enough for your heartfelt comments.
It is truly so difficult to express how wonderful you have all made me feel!
My soul is overflowing with your encouraging, inspiring and supportive words and thoughts.
I had thought for awhile whether or not to post what was going on with us..and I am so glad I did.
During these days that seem overloaded with physical labor and  emotional trials...
knowing that so many special people are lifting us up in prayer is just what we need to get us through!  Hearing the stories of others struggles reminds us that we are not alone and helps us to put in all in perspective!
Thank you, thank you, thank you...from the very bottom of my heart.
I love you all very much!

The packing is moving along...the big garage sale was this past weekend...
...and we continue to move forward!

Angst and Anticipation...

My husband and I have been going through quite a long economic struggle,
having been greatly affected by the financial  woes of our country!
Our story is much too long and detailed to even begin to tell...it started with a simple request for a loan payment modification but became a journey riddled with frustrations, disappointments, humiliation, misrepresentation and defeats.
Our faith has been put to the test during this time...as well as our commitment and reliance on one another.
Although we have been exhausted by the legal battles and brought to tears many times....we both feel that our relationship with God and each other, has been strengthened in ways that would not have happened otherwise.

There are only days left at this point that we can remain in our "Cozy Cottage".
We are making a major "downsize" that has required us to sell and give away many of our "things"!
But this forced stripping is becoming a wonderful gift.
The meaning of a house and its furnishings has dramatically changed for us through this challenge.
There is a sense of freedom and a feeling of freshness that is taking the place of our loss and regret.
There is a resilient spirit and a genuine alliance that is filling our souls.

Although we never dreamed we would be in this position...we now know that was a foolish thought...for none of us know when our life may take a sudden turn that was never on our original map!
We are unexpectedly finding ourselves feeling joyful eagerness for the new vision God is preparing us for...
...even high hopes and giddy anticipation for what is to come.

We never dreamed we would be in this position either, able to feel okay about what is happening
and able to let "things" go so easily.
It has been a process, for sure, and it is not over.
How will we feel when we close the door on this house and walk away?
How will we feel in the next moment?
That is the biggest lesson of all...Trust in the Lord; minute by minute; hour by hour; day by day!
To go to Him first and last....and to stand firm in faith and love!

Needless to say...I have been swamped with the tasks that go along with moving...
and have little time for anything else.
But soon the dust will settle and I will be able to tell the next story...the tale of what is waiting around the corner!

And until then...here is my prayer for me and you:

Do you Remember?

This is gonna date me for sure ~
But do you remember when the man with the pony came around the
neighborhood and you got to get your picture taken?
This is me ~ I am not sure how old I was...
... but I do remember that day... the hat, the chaps,
...even that cold sore on my bottom lip (urggg)!

Oh the Days...

Colossal Crafty Wonderland

Today I went to the Spring Colossal Crafty Wonderland Sale here in Portland.
Crafty Wonderland is a monthly event during the year taking place at a smaller venue...
and then twice a year they have the Big Colossal Sale!
It was filled with wonderful vendors....and wonderful creations!

Here is a a little photo tour of the event...

Mark Montano was there promoting his books...
and offering a make it take it corsage for Mother's Day!
Mark is best known for three series on the Style Network and The Learning Channel: 10 Years Younger, which he hosted, While You Were Out, on which he frequently appears as a designer, and My Celebrity Home where he is both host and designer.

My daughter, Gracie went with me.
In fact she called me on Friday to see if I wanted to go with HER!
