Isn't it cool...I just love it!
It's a Salton "Hot Basket" made in 1980!
It looks just like a picnic basket.
And it appears to have never been used....the cord is still wrapped up
with its original twist tie in place.
As the brochure says: A wonderful way to keep everything from apple turnovers
to baked potatoes fresh, hot and delicious!
The "Hot Basket" will keep your dinner rolls serving hot throughout the meal!
Not only will it keep them hot and fresh...
it will even refresh yesterday's baked goods.
After a busy day...pick up some "finger lickin' good" chicken & ribs
and keep them serving hot in the "Hot Basket" until everyone's home for dinner.
The more you use it the more uses you'll find for it!
I am looking forward to making some homemade bread to put inside!
P.S....forgot to say...I bought it for $2.00 at my local thrift store!

This is adorable my sweet friend...what a great find. Hope all is well and your Summer has been blessed. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! I am a bit horrified to think that 1980 is vintage because I swear the 80's were just yesterday LOL. But yeah, it's over 30 yrs ago. Geesh!! Let us know how it works!
ReplyDeleteThat is very cool-hot! I have not seen one of those, fun to take on a picnic too. :D
ReplyDeleteI have never seen this before..How cool! Please let us know how it works out for you.

Wow, what a great idea! I haven't even heard of this before. Lucky find my friend!!!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIs 1980 vintage?...good grief:) My mum had one of those. It was used for potlucks etc for the Lion's Club socials and such. I still have her Rival crockpot that she bought when they first were sold...1971?? I think she used it twice. She wasn't a fan.
ReplyDeleteI think it is mine. I got one for a wedding gift and never used it. ZIt probably ended up in a thrift shop......guessing 70's.
ReplyDeleteI love all of your comments, girls! I got it for only $2 at my local thrift store, Sharon. And yes, Juliet, I guess 1980 is now "vintage"! Can't believe it myself! Oh, Debby, it might indeed be yours...that is so funny! Do you think it made its way to the west coast? (stranger things have happened....kinda like a note in a bottle haha)
ReplyDeleteWho woulda thunk such a thing existed? Not me. Great find! Thanks for visiting me and leaving a comment. Have a great day!
ReplyDeletefun basket

Wow that is wonderful i have never seen one of those before or heard of one either. What fun, happy baking, dee x
ReplyDeleteI want to come to your thrift store. You find the best deals, Carrie. Love the copper lids. I had a Salton something in the 70's,
ReplyDeleteThink it was a small basket for rolls.
Neat-o find! Now THIS is why I shop at the thrift stores.....frequently! :) Let's get some warm cinnamon rolls loaded up!

That is so funny, I have never seen anything like it, but I just know you will make good use of it, do snap a picture when you do put it to good use! ox
ReplyDeleteThe basket is very unique and how lucky you are to find it at such at outrageous price. I'm glad you showed it to us.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend. Shannon
I have never seen this before....but what a great find!!!! Enjoy it!!!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen one one those either, but what a great idea. I would love to have one! I still can't wrap my head around something from 1980 being vintage. I guess that shows how old I am!!! That was the year I got married!
