Paper Bag Popcorn!

Did You Know...that you can pop popcorn in an ordinary paper bag?

Just use a lunch size bag and cover the bottom of the bag in popcorn kernels...white or yellow.

Don't add anything else!
Just fold down the top of the bag a couple of times and place in your microwave.
I use the popcorn setting (I usually add on an extra 45 seconds or so)
Just listen for it to stop popping.

Voila! Microwave popcorn without any chemicals or artificial preservatives.
I never buy microwave popcorn from the market anymore!

It pops perfectly!

You can add whatever you would like for seasoning...

We use spray Canola or Oil Olive oil and salt. Extra Low-fat!

And it is so inexpensive too. You can even re-use the bag!

A quick, healthy snack!

Give it a try!

  14. oh Carrie, you have just made my day!!!
I had no clue to even try this...
I eat popcorn pretty much every night for a snack and I drag out the heavy pot and lid, pop the corn, then clean up the stove and dishes... you have just simplified my life and time in the kitchen. Heck I can even just eat it out of the bag, no bowl to dirty!!!! WooHoo, guess what I am fixing tonight?????

  20. What??!! This is amazing!!! I had no idea...
I have a little one with severe food allergies {milk, and egg products} so I don't buy microwave popcorn-it usually has butter-this would be PERFECT for him, and I can add his soy butter!!!
    YOU ARE AWESOME~~~

    :)

  27. Cool tip. Popcorn in November always reminds me of Charlie Browns Thanksgiving.. all we need is some toast to go with it.

  39. hi carrie...i just came acrosss your blog. thanks for the tip on popcorn. i just bought a big bag of kernals because my whole family is coming in town for thanksgiving (az) and we have a tradition of placing 5 kernals of corn on each plate before we start our huge meal...just to remind us that the first pilgrims only had 5 kernals of corn rationed to them back in plymouth. now i know what to do with all my extra corn.
    thanks.
    your blog is darling.
