Now that Valentine's Day is over..
I can share with you the gift I made for my husband...
I took a pre-made package of Chinese fortune cookies and personalized them
to hold ten special messages of my love for him!
It's easy...you can do this for any special occasion....
Soak a paper towel in water and then squeeze it out.
Place a cookie one at a time (out of the package) on the damp towel.
Microwave for approx 35 secs. (watch for the cookie to begin to open up).
Take the cookie out and carefully remove the fortune. (tweezers help)
The cookie will be soft at this point and you may have to pry it open a bit.
Replace the fortune with one of your own.
(Here is a blank fortune template to use!)
Then gently press the edges of the cookie back together as it re-hardens.
You must work rather quickly, so have everything ready to go.
Repeat this one cookie at a time....and have fun!
As you can see...
I decided to re-packaged each of my cookies in small cellophane bags!
Stay Cozy, Carrie
What a novel idea! My grandchildren adore fortune cookies and I can surprise them!

What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteGirl who post fortune cookie idea is awesome.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great treat, we were just talking about learning how to do this. I think I may make some for sally's 8th grade class...we could make funny high school fortunes.
Thanks.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute idea! My son in law put his proposal in a fortune cookie for my daughter! They were at a Chinese restaurant and the waiter brought it out after dinner!
ReplyDeleteSome people are just way too creative, I would never think of doing that. Thanks for the wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea. I bet he loved it.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'd have the talent to do that, no matter how simple it may sound to some.
But hubby knows, I am just his one big ol' cookie.
Oh how neat is that Carrie ~ been missing reading your posts~!
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated "heart" Day!
I love fortune cookies so thanks for this tip about how to fill with your own messages!
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great weekend
