Some "puzzling" nostaglia...

Sock Hops and Soda Counters were a little before my time...
But I can certainly appreciate the beauty of simpler days!

This original Whitman Puzzle cries out  for days gone by...
when girls were modest and boys asked "them" out for a coke!
Days when a shared banana split meant he really liked you...

Oh I know it wasn't all "perfect" then either...
but something inside of me wishes we could have a little bit
of the naivety of the "40's and '50's!
A little more "June Cleaver" and a lot less "Kardashian Family"!

And come to think of it the price of things wasn't bad either!
I believe this puzzle cost more than a gallon of gas!

....ahhh the memories!
(puzzle found at local thrift store for 99 cents!)

Stay Cozy,
Carrie

  1. I so agree with your sentiment! I have a tendency to idealize days gone by as well, and they had their issues too, I'm sure. But a slower, simpler time would be a blessing for us all. And a return to more modest values would be welcome.

  7. Wouldn't that be nice to have some of the simpleness of years gone by?

  9. Love the sweet picture on the puzzle. I've been indulging in jigsaw puzzles this winter. It's not only an enjoyable pastime, it also keeps me from piling junk onto my dining room table!
I'm with you on the 'good old days'. I think mostly it just comes down to having respect for yourself and others and being a kind person in word and deed. Today, people seem so quick to say or write hateful things to loved ones and strangers alike. It certainly makes me long for the good old days.

  10. What a cute nostalgic piece of history...does it have a date on it? Looks like it's from the 50's...how fun! You always get the coolest things at your thrift store ~ I never have that much luck at ours.

    Enjoy!
