Trends from the past...

I picked up this wonderful book the other day...dated 1961.

What do you think of the styles back then?

 Hard to imagine decorating like this these days...

perhaps there are small touches we can use...

but remember everything old is new again!

Jell Roll Rug Epic Fail...

 I decided to try my luck at making a Jelly Roll Rug...

My first and last attempt...

 

 To start with I actually sewed my finger in my machine -

it punctured my nail (ouch-that hurt!)

I almost quit the project then but I powered through.

The prints were fun to work with and luckily I got the jelly roll on

 clearance at Joanne's...because...

My edges turned out wanky! (not happy about that)

It will not lay flat - I think I pulled on the fabric too much and stretched it :(

I have been sewing for years but this one didn't quite go right!

Any suggestions for helping this rug lay flat - can I use it to create something else?

Or is this just a toss out???

Chili Mango Jerky (yummm)

Dried Apples (always so good)

Dehydrated Lemons (great to adorn beverages)

A precarious post...

 As I began to create a new post I was forced to stop dead in my tracks by this unwelcomed visitor cruising across my screen!

I must admit... I am not a fan of spiders!!!

My hubby was asleep so I had to dispose of this creepy creature myself! Aaaahhhhh

Rainbow Storage...

 I came upon these lovely storage boxes while perusing by local thrift store.

And at only $2...I couldn't resist.

 I must say...it was a bit therapeutic putting 

them together!
