After 45 years together, you’d think a trip to pick out pumpkins might lose its sparkle — but somehow, it never does. Every year, as the air turns crisp and the leaves begin to tumble, we find ourselves wandering through rows of bright orange pumpkins, pointing out our favorites and laughing over which one has the best stem or the funniest shape.

There’s something comforting about traditions that stay the same even as everything else changes. The world moves fast, but this little ritual slows us down — a gentle reminder that simple joys are often the sweetest.
We load up our pumpkins, breathe in that unmistakable scent of fall, and smile at each other, grateful that after all these years, we still find joy in the small things — together.
πππ
And now that we have grandkids...we get to go twice and enjoy sweet Fall with the whole gang!
(or at least some of them)
Sending Cozy Hugs,

Love this so much my Friend! May we always find the joy in the simple things - including pumpkin patches - no matter the age. Have a blessed weekend ahead and enjoy your pumpkins! ππ
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful tradition but boy are your pumpkins cheap I haven't seen them that cheap in years here. I love the last picture of the family.
ReplyDeleteHappy fall
Cathy
What fun! We've never done this together, I just stop at our step brothers farm where they have a stand. But I love the idea of making it an event.
ReplyDeleteWonderful Family Photo
ReplyDeleteWhat a great deal on those pumpkins! How fun to go pumpkin hunting for so many years. Janice
ReplyDeleteFun!!
ReplyDeleteOur church always sells pumpkins as a fundraiser, and your photos here so remind me of that. Unfortunately, because of my husband's immuno-compromised condition, not only can we not go to church, where we help with the music ministry, but we can't help with the pumpkin sales. It breaks our hearts, but we are so glad to have a church family that loves us and understands. Thanks for sharing the joys that small things bring!
ReplyDeleteIt's not always about what you're doing but who you're doing it with that makes things so enjoyable. What a fun tradition that is and great that you get to do it with the grandchildren too. Love the group shot.
ReplyDeleteThe pumpkin patch has always been and will forever be the BEST! It's always been a tradition in my family as well to visit this wonderful place. It sounds like you search for those perfect stems. Some of them are so delightful. That's a good price for those pumpkins too. A cute picture of you, Carrie, and a terrific one of all the family. It truly is the small things that we find the most joy.

What a wonderful post. Lovely picture of your family.
ReplyDeleteI am thankful to for those things that I still get to share with my hubby, he always likes the tall skinny ones and I like the round plump ones :)
ReplyDeleteWhile we aren't pumpkin hunters, my hubby and I love to explore new coffee shops and trails to walk. At least I like pumpkin pie :)
ReplyDeleteOh my! I absolutely love this! Love! Happy autumn and pumpkin-picking time, my friend.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun autumn tradition with your husband. Love this!
ReplyDeleteSimple joys are often the sweetest and I couldn't agree more! A great series of happy photos. So nice to see you and hubby in them, and the family picture is a treasure. Happy Pumpkin Season!
ReplyDeleteI love that... a visit to the pumpkin patch never looses it's sparkle!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy day Carrie. π§‘
That looks like so much fun! We don't carve pumpkins anymore since spend Halloween at my daughters house and we are not at home.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like so much fun! Pumpkin picking is a special treat. I usually just get mine at the grocery store because we really don't have real pumpkin patches here in Florida. I haven't gotten one yet this year as we were going away, and now I suppose it's still not too late. We don't have any little ones around us either to enjoy going to find a pumpkin. You have a double blessing for sure! Thank you for sharing with us. I enjoyed this.
