It's such a beautiful day...I thought we should step outside into my Patio/Garden.
Grab your cup of coffee and follow me...
It's not a very large space... the entire back area is a deck with a small garden that I have planted roses.
Here is kind of an aerial view (from my 2nd floor bedroom window) to give you a better idea of the size...

As I am learning very quickly....it is what you make with what you are given that counts.
We are now becoming full-fledged "Container Gardners".
Just think of the spare time we will have to explore and tackle other things....
We are finally having some "Summer-Like" weather here in Oregon...
We just had our annual Rose Festival and all the big ships came in for the occasion!
Our city welcomes our troops with open arms during their stay with us
Parades, Festivals, Fireworks, Rides and of course Food & Wine were all part of the event!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful deck! I would spend every possible moment sitting out there with a book. I keep hearing about what a wonderful city Portland is, and I hope to visit some day. It looks like it must be a wonderful climate for gardening.
ReplyDeleteI just had my morning coffee enjoying your deck/garden. You have done a fabulous job. Loved the bird houses on the fence.
ReplyDeleteAnd your setee with the cushions is so pretty. Are your evergreen trees in containers too? They are so healthy and green. Must be the Oregon moisture.

ReplyDeleteMust be great to be in a city which can host the Big Ships. :-) And be able to give a warm welcome to our troops.
You said we are having similar weather, and I guess we are. But way on the other side of the country. I'm in the upper NE and it's being a cool, damp time of it here. -moan- But it will turn hot/humid for a spell and then I'll complain about that. ,-)))
Gentle hugs...
very nice patio Carrie!

Your deck is just beautiful. Lots of little things of interest and I love that sort of thing...especially the frogs!
ReplyDeletePortland...I began Kindergarten in Portland. I lost my baby brother there and after the war we moved back to California but I left part of my heart in Oregon. My parents worked building ships during the war..my mom was a "rosie the riveter" back in the 40's. I love Oregon. How lucky you are to live there. My Aunt lives in the Dalles. My father was born there.
Your patio is so beautiful and inviting. It looks like the perfect place to relax and enjoy the day. Your patio makes mine look like a wasteland. LOL
ReplyDeleteMmmm I love your secret patio hide out!
ReplyDeleteI really loooooove those red cushion on the love seat!
Hugz, Dolly
Your deck looks lush and lovely! The potted plants and bird houses have given it a truly homey feel. I still can't believe how fast you were able to unpack your house and decorate it so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteCarrie... I love everything about this new place. Your are right.. it's all about how you make your home a home.
