While everyone seems to have their tree up and their home decorated for the holidays...
I am stil contemplating the kind of tree I want this year.
My husband wants a real tree for sure,
Our space is limited so it will have to be quite narrow!
That won't be a problem ~ there is an abundance of
fir trees here in Oregon!
My dilema is ~ how I am going to decorate it?
I am striving for a simple Christmas.
A season of truly celebrating Jesus' birth, His life on the earth
and His death on the cross for our salvation!
I love the season and all of the celebrations to come...
but I have challenged myself to slow down, "do" less of the things that don't really matter,
enjoy special time with family and friends....and for me...spend time in my kitchen baking treats to
share with those I love and those I have yet to meet.
So here we are...back at the beginning...
what shall my tree be?
A tree of fruit & popcorn?
~or perhaps everything in red!
~ white decorations are simple & pretty ~
~ or maybe even snow ~
I could decorate my tree with cards?
Last year my tree was small and colorful and covered in paper umbrellas!
Hmmm ~ well we are off to cut down a tree this weekend ~
please let me know if you have any suggestions!
I will share my decorated tree with you soon!
In the meantime ~ Stay Cozy ~
and enjoy the Season!
Warmly,
Carrie

Since we don't get snow I really love that one that is so me. But you need to decorate the way that expresses you. I look forward to seeing what you do.

ReplyDeleteAll those trees are gorgeous but there is something extra special about the "red" tree. It's very Christmas-y

I am still doing my tree this year but the rest of the house will be simple. I love what you shared and I would love that first picture to be my house!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have the room for a big tree. I wish! But I'd be like you, wondering how to decorate it.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the branches with the carddecoration.
Have fun decorating!

Cannot wait to see what you and Michael come up with our Small Trees have always been just perfect for us, simple can be better~ oxox
ReplyDeleteoh goodness, I don't have any suggestions BECAUSE each and every tree that people put up is a reflection of what they LOVE...and that makes it fun. To see all the Different trees.
ReplyDeleteYour's will be lovely I am sure and I can't wait to see it.
And I agree, this is the time of year for people to SLOW DOWN, and think of Christmas, their families, and the JOY's of their lives.
We have a Costco fake one. At least I am healthy and can breathe.

ReplyDeleteI'm striving to do the same thing this year. I would like to make it natural & disposable decorating
this year.
Thanks for the ideas!
I just love them all! I know that whatever you decided to do that it would be stunning. Can't wait to see.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful sunday.
I remember your little tree with umbrellas last year. I wanted to try it...alas...where to get those umbrellas???
ReplyDeleteLiked all the ideas... I vote for all red (o:
I'm on the same plan.... slow down, don't try to do EVERYTHING and spend more time on the things that really count.
ReplyDeleteHope your tree is just perfect for you.... ours is of the "box" variety... simply sinful here, in the Pacific Northwest.
Hugs to you!
Spencer
I have thought that same thing for this year too! Cut back, do less, focus on the true meaning and joys of Christmas. I started decorating though, and just can't seem to stop. It has been days and is still a work in progress! BUT, this year I am taking my time and keeping the house clean in the process which has been nice too.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't decide on how to decorate my tree either, but last night decided to do it all in white and silver. Not quite done but I like how it is turning out.
Oh, and I LOVE tall skinny trees! I'll look forward to seeing yours!
I do love that bare branch tree for the cards! But for a fir tree... well you love to bake, so maybe you could do a sweet treats tree. Can't wait to see what you choose.
ReplyDeleteThis year I'm really into snowflakes and decorated our tree in lots of snowflakes ~ it really looks pretty...I think a whole tree in snowflakes would be beautiful! Have a wonderful christmas and enjoy the beauty of this season:)
