Coffee rituals...

It has been said that waking up ten minutes earlier than you normally would just to sit in bed and drink your coffee is one of the most worthwhile things you can do to get your day off to a great start.

Sitting in bed with a cup of coffee and zoning out, watching TV, or scrolling through social media can put your mind at ease - even
if only for a few minutes.
My friend's husband brings her coffee to her in bed and she does this exact thing. My husband enjoys his coffee on the back deck during his devotion and prayer time.
I enjoy my morning coffee too, however; it is not until I have showered, readied myself for the day, and prepared it in my "to-go" cup...that I start sipping my latte on my way
out the door!

What is your coffee routine? Do you have one?
How's it working for you?

Staying Cozy and "Coffeed-up",
Carrie

  1. One of our favorite 'routines' is to have a cup of freshly brewed coffee at 3 pm every day! It's the perfect time to catch up on emails or read a book. Love your photo and that big mug!

    1. That could be a bit late for me because of the caffine - however; my husband can drink a cup right before bedtime and it doesn't affect him at all! Love yor afternoon routine ♥

  2. I'm not a fan of coffee, so please don't hate me. he he Tea is my thing and I enjoy drinking it all day long! In the warm months I brew my usual pot of tea and enjoy one hot cup in the morning with breakfast and then iced the rest of the day. Such a cute picture of you enjoying your coffee. ♥

  3. I have to feed my dogs, let them out, give them their medicine, and make the coffee before I can sit down to enjoy it! And I need it. I'm not a morning person. I drink it while I look at emails. I use a Keurig, so I only have two cups. I'm blessed that I work from home so there is no hurry.

    Great topi, Carrie!

  4. I can't drink coffee, for health reasons, but I really like to wake up earlier than I need to and spent 10 or 15 minutes reading a book. I feel so much more relaxed when going about my day when I start the day this way.

  7. This is a fun one!
And a beautiful photo of you, my friend.
My hubby and I have coffee (me) and tea (him) first thing when we wake up.
We actually sit together and watch old episodes of Match Game with Gene Rayburn!
Then I usually have another after my workout, shower, bed making etc. time, as I prepare my Flynn's schoolwork for the day.
And then, like another of your followers, I have one more cup around 3:00. Just time for me to relax and recharge!
    Have a cozy weekend. : )

  8. I love this post! I have my coffee first thing. Like literally as soon as I wake up. I take my first cup back to bed with me and sip it while I watch I Love Lucy. I've been doing this for years. After the first cup's caffeine has kicked in, I take my shower and get ready for the day. I have a few refills along the way! ♥♥♥

  9. It is early morning and I am lazing in bed with a cup of tea in hand (made by my husband) and reading your delightful post. Love those mornings when this happens as more often than not I am up early for my morning walk. This morning is a lazy-kinda morning.....it is the weekend. Have a beautiful day, lovely Carrie.

  10. I am not a coffee drinker. I wish I was but even with all the flavors to make the coffee yummy it still is coffee in the end to me. I do however love the smell of coffee brewing or going into coffee shops. If I want a hot drink I usually do a chai latte tea or flavored tea. My caffeine is from a diet coke. Love my diet coke mid morning. I love to wake up early to lay in bed and just meditate and pray. That opens up my mind and heart for the day. I like your hubby's idea of sitting out on the deck to have his coffee. I bet that is really nice to smell in fresh air and hear the birds singing.
    Happy Friday.
    xoxo

  11. All of these sweet comments I have so appreciated! I am thinking I should try to take the extra time to relax with my coffee instead of racing out the door like so many of you do - whether it be coffee, tea or another beverage of choice. Thank you so much for the "rituals"!

  12. My coffee pot is set to come on at 7am. My fitbit alram is set to wake me at 7am also. I will lay in bed for an extra ten minutes until I hear the coffee maker alert that the coffee is finished. Then I will get up and have breakfast and coffee while I look throught my social media and emails. I have about 45 minutes to myself before my husband gets up. Id rather have my coffee on the patio but the neighbors dog will bark at me forever! Its annoying. At the beach, I grab a cup and head out to the sand!

  13. I'm among those that don't drink coffee, love the smell though.
Tea(iced) for me all the way. I grab a glass in the morning as
I am finishing dressing and getting ready.
I fill my Terves glass with tea to have at school.

    Happy June!

  16. I also am not a coffee drinker, but I do LOVE the smell of it brewing! A ritual my mom always had every morning, and to this day, the smell of it dripping reminds me of my mom. I love herbal teas, and as soon as I'm up and dressed, and have cleared up the cat plates (my hubby feeds them earlier when he gets up), I make my morning cup of herbal tea. I love Meyer Lemon tea by Stash. My all time fave.. then Raspberry Hibiscus. I'll have a cup while sitting and chatting with hubby... then we're both off to separate corners of the house to check our email, etc. I usually leave the teabag in the cup, and refresh it once or twice a day with more water and have another cup! Of course, nothing is better than some little sweetie with my tea, like a homemade muffin or cookie (gluten free). I loved iced herbal tea too.. and maybe once a year I'll buy some sort of Latte from Starbucks, just as a treat, but me and caffeine don't seem to get along very well! Never have been served tea in bed... will have to tell hubby.. ha ha. Marilyn

  17. First thing I do every morning is take the two dogs outside for a minute or two. Then back inside I put the coffee on and while it is brewing, I wash my face and brush my teeth...then can't wait to get that first cup. I love getting up early and I love that first cup of coffee! Love the picture of you.

  18. No coffee for me in the morning, Carrie, only a pot of tea with my breakfast on a tray in my bed! You're so cute with your mug of coffee!

  19. Love that first cup in the morning! I always drink home-brewed 'Starbucks Breakfast Blend' with fat-free half and half and two packets of stevia. I take that cup with me as I get myself ready for the day. The Mr. gets up earlier than I do, so we don't share morning coffee together, but we always have a cup after dinner together. I wish coffee wasn't so darn expensive, though! xx Karen
