I haven't posted here on my blog for some time - nearly a year! Like many, life gets busy, and I had to let some things go for a bit. But I have been here in the background enjoying my favorite blogs.
Especially recently...
About ten weeks ago on March 30th, I took a very bad fall in my driveway at home and fractured my hip amongst some other lesser injuries! I went to the emergency room right away and was in the hospital for four days after undergoing a fracture repair and clean-up and a hip replacement. It was quite the trauma and shock, and it has been a rough time dealing with the pain, lack of mobility, dependence on others etc. My best
friend helped me with my first shower upon returning home! I am still on a journey and have undergone much physical therapy - but I have ditched the walker and the cane and am getting closer to a full recovery each day. I will certainly try to be more present here - but I have enjoyed following up with some of my favorite peeps + posts while I was laid up.
WARNING - pics of my injuries.
Please be very careful, my friends. I am in good shape, exercise and walk all the time,
but one little misstep can certainly change your life in an instant!
Still Cozy,
Carrie
Ouch!!! glad you are on the mend

So sorry to hear of your injury but glad to hear that you are on your way to recovery. Take care and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteWell, hello there!!!! So nice to see you here, although not quite as happy under the circumstances! I am glad you are smiling and recovering so nicely. I fell last week in the hallway of our condo building. I fell on my face and luckily just ended up with a fat lip and a bruised ego!
ReplyDeleteCarrie, I'm so sorry you took a fall, and it looks like a pretty bad one too (I'm sorry I can't read the small print of your accident). I hope you heal quickly, and Yes, we are at that age where we will take a fall every now and then. Take care, Carrie, and glad to see a post from your today.

I can read it now, thank you. Oh my, a hip replacement! It all sounds so painful. I hope you heal nicely in the days ahead, and I'm thinking of you during this difficult time that you are having. : )
DeleteSo happy to see you here....Bless your heart, what a terrible fall. You are right, one fall can create havoc on our bodies. You were really bruised up and I know this was so painful. Thankful that you are mending and prayers for complete healing. Take care!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Welcome back dear Carrie. 🙏🏻💗 I'm so sorry to hear about the misadventure your were thrown. But it sure sounds like you've been handling it beautifully and so glad that your on the mend more fully. It is such a scary thing and I actually try to work on my balance now and work to pay attention to my health this way. We definitely don't "bounce" as well when we're older. Sending you huge hugs and prayers for a full recovery and healing on every level. (I know mentally things can take a toll in those times as well). Wonderful to share with you back in blogland. Blessings always dear Friend. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI just got back to blogging this week too after a break.
ReplyDeleteOuch on the fall! I believe you will have a full recovery soon. Take care.
