Our littlest granddaughter had a rough one while on a shopping trip with dad — a tumble, a few tears, and a set of stitches she definitely didn’t plan on.
She was as brave as any 18-month-old little girl can be...but honestly, it can be almost harder on the grown-ups.
But the sweetest part came when she got home. Her big sister — who’d had the exact same injury not long ago — was waiting like a tiny expert in all things stitches and bravery. She wrapped her arms around her, offered sympathy, and shared her own “I survived this too” wisdom.
And just like that, the fear softened.
The grown‑ups exhaled.
The girls giggled.
🌸 Kids heal quickly. Parents take a little longer.
But sisterhood makes everything easier. 🌸
Stay Cozy,
(and out of the emergency room)

I sure it did upset the grownups the most. Made my stomach tighten just to read it. They are so cute. How they hold on to each other this tightly as they grow up.
ReplyDeleteOh my word - this is just the sweetest! I'm sorry for the scary fall and stitches, but the pictures will remain after she heals and they are a treasure.
ReplyDeleteOh, Carrie, your grands are grand! You know you're raising children right when they show empathy and caring for one another. Big sister is a hero. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThis is the absolute sweetest! I always wished I'd had a sister but I have gf's who are the sisters I chose in this life and that's pretty awesome too! I hope that little princess heals up soon - they are both so adorable! 💗
ReplyDeleteThese are precious photos showing the bond between sisters. How scary for her and yet that sweet smile she has. Remembering two trips to doctors for stitches when our now 46-year-old son was young, I can truly empathize with her parents (and grandparents). She will be resilient and it sounds like her sister already is. Have a great day Carrie and thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteAww good big sister

Oh Carrie, sisters really are magic, and I'm so sorry your precious granddaughter tumbled and had to get a few stitches. So good of big sister to help her along the way. I hope she heals nicely and quickly. Your story hit home for me as well, as our little grandgirl chipped her tooth last weekend, and will have to have dental work done on it in the days and weeks and maybe years ahead. I felt so bad for her. But having that love and care from family makes all the difference in the world. It's an emotional thing for us grandmas, isn't it? ; )
ReplyDeleteLove that last pictures of sister love. Yes, it is hard on us when they hurt.
ReplyDeleteHow precious this is. So sorry for the tumble and the hurt it caused. Just seeing the photos blessed my heart of how big sister was comforting little sister. Thanks for posting and I pray this heals quickly.
ReplyDeleteSo true as I would have been a basket case. Kids get over things quickly. The girls are so sweet. Janice
ReplyDeleteAw what a sweet moment to help the hurt go away. I had stitches on my chin too when I was little
ReplyDeleteWhat adorable little girls, and they favor you! Such a sweet story. Gosh, I remember those trips to the emergency room. I have two girls too.
ReplyDeleteAww this is so sweet! It's sad that she needed stitches in the first place, but seeing her sister helping her and trying to cheer her up is just the sweetness I needed to see today! Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh, the poor little sweet one. That is a nasty injury and I do love the too of them together. Priceless. I hope she heals up real soon.
ReplyDeleteA heart warming story of two sisters sharing an unfortunate life experience and coming out with smiles. Precious photos of two beautiful girls. I hope little sister is mending well now with the help of her big sister's loving support.
ReplyDeleteThey are so sweet. Sorry she had to have stitches.
ReplyDeleteOh, what adorable photos of big and little sister. What a trumper after being stitched up. When children smile, they smile with their entire faces, and their eyes sparkle! It’s contagious, and now I’m happy too. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I meant to type, what a trouper, meaning uncomplaining and carrying on despite her fresh injury requiring stitches. If spell check changed my. word or finished while typing, I didn’t catch it.
DeleteHow sweet to have a big sister, cute photos of the two of them!
ReplyDeletePoor baby! I love my sisters, I have three sisters and one brother.
ReplyDeleteOuch!! Sure glad she had big sister to keep her mind off the injury. Hopefully its healing quickly.
