While shopping at the grocery store today and pushing my cart down the aisle....
I noticed a woman who was trying to balance several items in her arms.
You know those days when you're just going in for milk and don't need a cart!
Just when they were all about to fall... I offered her my cart
... and told her I could get another one.
Her face lit up with a beautiful smile of gratitude
and in that moment my heart felt full.

Later as I was walking to my car with my purchases
....a young man who worked at the store came out to collect the carts
...as I opened my trunk he came over
and asked if he could help unload my bags.

Once again my heart felt warm...
but this time I was the one feeling gratitude!
Don't you just love how that happens?

ReplyDeleteMy sentiments exactly, i love the things you shared, it feels great to give and then to be on the receiving end too. Thank you for becoming a 'follower' on my blog,Carrie, the other day. We have lots in common. I have 5 kids between the ages of 22 and 32 and like the same things you do! I have just become a 'follower' on your site. Sorry this is so long.

Kindness grows kindness!!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend!
Warmly,

What a very sweet thing to do. What a wonderful world this would be if we all remembered to look for ways to be kind, every day.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this. If more of us would step out of our own focus and reach out to others in a kind way, this world would become a bit more friendlier.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the old saying "What goes around comes around..." or the even older saying by Wisdom Himself, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!!" Such a lovely post! May all your days be filled with such nice moments!

Yes, I love how this happens. I think it is why we are here in this world. Little things really do make a difference. I am still remembering the checkout girl's warm caring smile last week. Good and important post.
ReplyDeleteWonderful Carrie! E
ReplyDeleteone good deed leads to another...very nice post
ReplyDeleteOh I DO love when that happens! Connection of the human spirit. Having a stranger say I SEE YOU! YOU MATTER TO ME. I have a strange habit I cannot break, of blurting out to beautiful girls or women in the mall YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL! OOoooo or tell a pregnant woman how adorable she looks! Ah, life is good. Happy Saturday, my friend! **kisskiss** Deb
ReplyDeleteWhat goes around, comes around, as they say. Thanks for this good reminder that any kind deed, no matter how small, makes a big difference.
