I just love my crockpot...nothing fancy....I've had it for years....
Just fill it up, set it for high or low and let it do its job!
This morning at 8:30am before I left for Bible Study
I put in a 3 1/2 lb. Boneless Beef Chuck Roast...
added three apples sliced (skin and all)
one large red onion sliced
Sprinkled some "Johnny's Seasoning Salt" and "Lemon-Pepper"
and poured in a 1/2 can of chicken broth...
And when I came in the door at 1:30...
I was greeted by an awesome aroma...
and this...
The combination of the apples & the onions is SO tasty!
And if you are watching your carbs...
it is great alone (no rice or potatoes needed)
My daughter and her friend get home from school soon
and they will be hungry...
I have already had a bowl full...
Hope it lasts 'til dinner time!

That looks delicious! I can almost smell it from here. :0) I love my crock pot. I've had mine for years too. I like the idea of preparing dinner in the morning and letting it cook all day. The aroma it gives off makes me hungry very early though! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteJust wondering what time dinner is served! That looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so good. I never thought of putting apples with a beef roast, Yum!
ReplyDeleteI hear ya...I am using mine more and more, they make a delicious meal with hardly any work at all and they do make the house smell so good most all day! :D
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm not watching my carbs right now but I need to get back to the program of watching them! Thank you, I love my crock pot too. This sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteCarrie, I found the fruit and goodie box at a decorators shop, it was around $45.00 I just loved it too :D
ReplyDeleteOh that looks so delicious! If was sitting here it would already be gone, Yum Yum!
ReplyDeleteThe weather is cooling down now, not that it ever gets really cold here. My faithful crockpot will be coming out of storage, its not as pretty as yours but it serves me well. Its great to be able to buy the cheaper cuts of meat and they always come out nice and tender.
ReplyDeleteI bung everything in, whatever is in the fridge and store cupboard, I buy cheap home brand style french onion soup packet mixes, they are great for flavouring beef stews.
I just made a crockpot dinner yesterday. Two pork tenderloins, 1 onion, a packet of dry onion soup mix and a cup of gingerale. I saw a recipe that called for rootbeer but didn't have any, thus the gingerale. =)
ReplyDeleteIt just fell apart and made awesome pulled pork sandwiches.
I love using my crock pot ~ this recipe looks great! Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteI really need to use my crockpot more- it's so good to come home to supper already cooked! This roast sounds delicious...I can almost smell it cooking from here. :)
ReplyDeleteThat does sound wonderful! I've never thought of putting apples in with my roast before. I'll definitely have to try this.
ReplyDeleteMakes dinner easy!

ReplyDeleteI love Crockpot meals too. I am trying this one soon. Probably have to throw some potatos in for my meat and potatoes man, but I would love it with those apples and onions. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLooks yummy! I love the ease of crockpot meals.
ReplyDelete(Do you brown your meat first, or not?)

I agree! Crock pots rock! I try to tell all working ladies to USE their crock pots, the dinner will be ready when you come home! All new moms need to keep their crocks full too! (LOL)
ReplyDeleteI've never cooked apples with my roasts, I'll have to try that!

That looks delish! My crock pot cooks meals too fast. I heard that the older models are better! I need to find a replacement and try your meal idea!!
ReplyDeleteI use my crock pot a lot too. Never thought of putting an apple in with the roast, but I will be trying that soon!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like comfort in a bowl!! Yum
ReplyDeleteCarrie, thanks for stopping by to comment on my post. I want you to know that i LOVE the little hippi paperdoll family. And if the world was normal, I'd grab that that in a heartbeat! I might be able to come back for it next week, if it's still there. DH is searching for a job now, so we're down one income and making do with less. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that no one else wants it quickly!
ReplyDeleteOh my! That sounds delish! I use my crock pot a lot, too. Thanks for the new recipe, I will have to do that, but I will throw in some small red potatoes, that would be the perfect accompaniment to go with that meal!
ReplyDeleteI know I looked at your kitchen post yesterday, but wanted to say how mice your ovens are and what a great picture to hang in a kitchen, I love its cheerful colors.
Hugs, Cindy
